I see a version of the same story in clinic, over and over.

The liver processes toxins in two phases. Phase one converts fat-soluble toxins into intermediate compounds. Phase two converts those intermediates into water-soluble forms that can be excreted via bile, urine or sweat.
Both phases require specific nutritional co-factors. B vitamins, magnesium, sulphur compounds, and antioxidants like glutathione are all involved. A diet that's low in vegetables, high in processed food, and chronically short on key micronutrients will slow both phases — meaning the liver accumulates a backlog rather than clearing it.
